Fishing At Chevelon Canyon Lake Arizona
Access to Chevelon Canyon Lake is extremely limited. Although many might consider this, coupled with its remote location, something of a drawback, the combination makes for some of the best trout fishing in the state.
The road that was used for construction of the impoundment has not been maintained since the lake was created in the 1960s. It may be closed, but you can still use it to walk to the water's edge.
This entire area was once popular among trappers before Arizona became the "civilized" place it is today. Chevelon CAnyon is named after a beloved early trapper who lived in the area and unfortunately died after eating a poisonous root. -G.J Sagi, from the travel handbook Fishing Arizona
Keep in mind this is an artificial fly and lure only Lake. No vehicle access's to the shore and a long hike in. -Tom
