Fishing the Little Colorado RiverUsually when someone tells you they went fishing at the Little Colorado River, there referring to the forks located in the White Mountains Region that produce Rainbow, Brook, possible some Brows and Apache Trout. The east, west and south forks are all located and accessible near the town of Greer off Hwy 260 in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. The flow of this river is created from the runoff of Mount Baldy. The Little Colorado River is most popular for fishing in its higher elevations in the White Mountains region on the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest and it's main flow on the Coconino National Forest as far north as Winslow. The main flow continues northeast through a desert landscape producing class V & VI rapids from the town of Cameron to it's end at the Colorado River.
