Arizona is not generally associated with fishing but we do have a variety of fish species to throw a lure at. We also, have a diverse landscape throughout the state from the desert to the pines. This makes for year-round fishing, and gives us cold and warm-water fisheries.
Believe it or not, there are a lot of lakes in AZ you don’t often hear about. This list should help you find some new places to fish in AZ. This is just a short list of the lakes in Arizona to get you started. You may want to go to "where to fish AZ" at the top and find the region of the state you want to explore before using this page.
You can use this list to see how popular they are by search. The most popular lakes in Arizona are Lake Pleasant, Canyon Lake, Saguaro Lake, Lake Havasu and Lake Powell due to their relative location to the city.
There are other spots to fish in AZ that are not listed because they either are on private land, or would be considered a “fishing hole”. These are often the best to find since there is less angler demand. Sometimes just looking close on Google Earth is your best bet to find a hole near you.
