Tags. Please type in a Lake Name, Species of Fish etc:
  • Chevelon Creek is located just north of Woods Canyon Lake and south of Chevelon Canyon Lake. Some sites on the net say its good for rafting but our user have said other wise. You can also expect to catch Rainbow and Brown Trout along the 13 mile stretch. Fishing information on this spot is limited. If you decide to take a trip to Chevelon Creek keep Woods Canyon Lake or Chevelon Canyon Lake as a backup.

Chevelon Creek is NOT a good place for rafting. Only the 13 miles upstream of Chevelon Canyon Lake holds permanent flow, but it lies within a deep remote canyon and no easy access to the upper portion.

However, this section of creek is great fishing, but very remote and difficult to hike into. Note the special regulations that require artificial fly and lure and only a 2 fish daily bag limit.

Pets are allowed, but must be kept on a leash at all times (Forest Service regulation), but not a great place to take a pet.
