Are there any campgrounds in the area of Seneca Lake? Have small RV. Don't need hook-ups

No campgrounds in the area. If you don't need hook-ups you're fine, but make sure to get a permit from the tribe. The tribal police are always checking!!

I would not recommend coming to this lake. Is is in a very dangerous and sketchy place. It looks like a vacant boom town, except people still live there. I was staying in show low and my friend from Mesa, where I live met me half way, and we dicided this as our meeting place. Bad decision. I was scared for my life. Please stay away from here if you value your life.

This place is used mostly in the summer for church revivals that still use tents.aka tent campmeetings..Apaches stay and camp out for the meetings during summer.

I don't see it as sketchy or scary. I think the people would be polite if you asked for help. Growing up, I remember that there were people that lived here permanently.

There is no heavy gang population - no one lives there..the grafitti is probably done by native teens/young adults who go there at night to drink and end up tagging stuff.

it's a safe place just deserted. but as always, use wisdom when exploring new places.

my memories of Seneca growing up, are going to attend those revival tent meetings with my mom, and staying with our grandmother there. And being made fun of because I didn't know what an outhouse was.

Although Cathy may be correct, I still do not recommend entering the Seneca Lake area unless you absolutely have to. I have a feeling there is heavy gang population in the area. Here are some photos of the complex. These were taken a while ago and it looks a lot worse since then. Also, I found out that it was supposed to be a big recreational area with hotels and restaurants, but the project was abandon in the late 70's and it seems to be home to the homeless now. My family and I were just there yesterday (9/1/2013) and there was no "sketchy activity" the rangers came and made sure we had our reservation fishing pass but that was pretty much all that happened. We could see the baby bass in the water, but had no luck catching ANYTHING! better luck next time... Yes, it looks to have been abandoned but no gang activity or any other silly claims. Nobody bothered us but there was some light traffic on the road beside us. I went with my husband and our 3 daughters (ages 10, 7, and 2) and my father and my sister and her husband as well as their 3 children (ages 12, 10, and 7) Don't believe the stupidity about gangs and fear for life and all that.

Hahaha I have never heard of a church group that tags and grafitti's their own campground. But what ever. I'm not going back their because honestly it is a creepy park, and if you want to believe these absurd comments then go ahead but I warned you. I would not go there not recommend it. Also be sure to google it, you can see pictures of it online. Check out the link I posted in the other comments.

Looking for a really beautiful view and pinic place I can go and have a great time with my significant other. My late father used to visit and my grandmother recommend it recently. I was just wondering if It would be a good place to escape and enjoy a beautiful view and great food (via me) with my boyfriend.

Don't listen to the bad comments. They are probably from some native that thinks they are protecting their native land or some BS.

This is a cool place to get out of the city and enjoy some good fishing and cooler weather.

Hi there! The Hubs and I plan on going to Seneca Lake soon. Would you happen to know if there are bathrooms there? Camping? Is it creepy and "ghosty"? I just can't seem to find a straight answer online! Thank you!
