  • Tunnel Reservoir is one of the three Greer Lakes. Bunch and River Reservoirs are the other two. They are all north of Greer and , coupled with the LIttle Colorado river, make this area one of the finest angling experiences in the entire state.

Tunnel covers 44 surface acres and offers anglers a chance at some large brown trout and rainbow. It's managed mostly as a "put and take" fishery, where the stocking truck puts them in-and the fishermen take them out.

Generally, catchable-sized rainbow trout are stocked here the last week of April (weather willing) and at least one more time during the summer. Because of the lakes's relatively clear shoreline, flyfishing is very productive. During the late fall, flyfishermen regularly land some of the year's biggest fish. -G.J. Sagi, from the essential travel handbook Fishing Arizona

GREER LAKES (River; Tunnel; Bunch) – All 3 lakes are full or nearly full, and ice covered. The ice is thin and not safe. Greer Fire District will be conducting prescribed burns Feb 22-Mar 10. The burns will be in the area of squirrel spring and the spade ranch areas. The community of Greer will be impacted by the smoke. Contact Greer Fire District staff if you have questions.

This young man caught this 4-pound brown trout Jan. 9 out of Tunnel Reservoir. This time of year, bunny leeches, simi seal leeches and woolly buggers work well in all of the Greer Lakes.
